Tricolorul Regal al României, adevăratul steag al Țării / The Romanian Royal Flag, the true flag

   The Romanian Royal Flag is the true, non-communist national flag of Romania (as depicted, it was used in this form, as a military flag, until the communists illegally ousted the King out of the country, in 1947). The flag has the Royal Coat of Arms, big variant, at its center and four Royal Seals (or Royal Ciphers) at the corners. The Royal Seal changes at each monarch’s accession to the Throne: this seal is a stylised “M I”, meaning “Mihai I”, the present King. The three colours meaning is: blue are Romania’s sky and waters, yellow are the crop fields, red is the blood of national heroes. When the flag is flown, the blue colour is always near the mast (or up, if the flag is hanged vertically). Please note that the flag is 2:3 in proportion, with equal stripes of colour and the Coat of Arms covers all three of them (it is “pinned” at the nodes, exactly at the limit of the stripes). The main symbol included in the Coat of Arms is the Steel Crown (the small grey crown), that represents not only the Romanian Monarchy, but the very existence and independence of the State (the Crown was cast from an Ottoman gun’s steel in 1877, when modern Romania appeared as an European state). Please do not confuse this flag with the official flag of the Republic of Moldova (actually Bessarabia, a historical Romanian province forcibly separated by the Soviets after WWII).    Drapelul Regal al României este adevăratul steag al Țării, cel necomunist (a fost folosit, în forma în care este prezentat (steag militar), până în 1947, când comuniștii l-au silit pe Rege să părăsească Țara, printr-o lovitură de stat ilegală). Drapelul conține, la centru, Stema Regală, varianta mare și patru Cifruri Regale la colțuri. Cifrul Regal se modifică la fiecare urcare pe Tron a unui nou monarh: în prezent, cifrul acesta cuprinde, stilizate, literele „M I”, de la „Mihai I”, actualul nostru Rege. Semnificația celor trei culori este: albastre sunt cerul și apele României, galbene sunt lanurile de grâu, roșu este sângele vărsat de eroii națiunii. Când drapelul este arborat, albastrul se află, întotdeauna, lângă lance (sau în partea de sus, în cazurile în care drapelul este expus vertical). Steagul tricolor are un raport de 2:3 între laturi, cu fâșii colorate egale, iar stema se întine pe toate trei (este „țintuită” în nodurile de sus exact pe limita fâșiilor colorate). Principalul simbol conținut în Stema Regală este Coroana de Oțel (cea mică, de culoare gri), care reprezintă nu doar dinastia română, ci însăși existența și independența Statului Român (Coroana a fost turnată din oțelul unui tun turcesc capturat în Războiul de Independență din 1877, când România a apărut pe harta Europei ca stat modern). Nu confundați acest drapel cu cel oficial al Republicii Moldova (de fapt Basarabia, o provincie istorică românească răpită de sovietici după cel de-Al Doilea Război Mondial).
